It is highly recommend to brush daily, using special brush/rake, that is designed to brush the undercoat and the top coat by having uniquely shaped teeth.
Do not use the wire brush, it will scrape the skin and possibly injure it.
Daily brushing keeps effort to a minimum and is done in minutes
It will also help to discover any skin problems before they can escalate.
All dogs should be trained to stand with their front feed elevated.
That locks the dog into place and gives easy access to all body parts to be brushed.
It is similar to training the “place” command. The only difference is to train keeping just the front legs elevated and keep the dog from sitting or laying down while being brushed. This positioning also allows easy access to the underside of the dog!

A bath should be given about every three months. Do not use human shampoo or hair products. The are not made for the dogs’ coat and skin. It can trigger unwanted side effects.
