A special thank you to Zauberberg from our family.
As a show breeder of cocker spaniels for over ten years, I have not ventured out to other breeds until my son brought his german shepherd into the family. He is in middle school now, when he decided to breed her for the first time. She came from lines of conf show dogs. However, when we began looking for a stud, he asked me to find a stud dog that… Worked. After a friend of mine introduced us to Zauberberg and his impressive dog Jago. We found a match. Our bitch was an inexperienced 2.5 yr old, and would prove to be no easy breeding. After several attempts, trips to the vet to ensure both parties were healthy and capable to breed, and still no luck or participation on our bitch’s part. Zauberberg didn’t give up. A year later, he offered to try again. He continued to offer suggestions and accept ours as well. With our bitch showing little interest to breed, we returned to the kennel where Jago and her had been well kept. I didn’t expect much from our attempts this time either. However, we counted the days and she began to show. I thought maybe two puppies from her. My son excited to expect two, woke up one morning to see us sitting with her and two healthy puppies! To my surprise, she has been my easiest whelp and required no assistance. She now has 6 healthy puppies! With my love for the show ring, and my son’s love for the working dogs, Zauberberg has helped us produce a litter to would bring together both worlds. Thank you so much!
